Who We Are

BPI Information Systems is a full service computer support company which traces its roots back to 1975 when John Hastings started Business Products Inc. with the purpose of helping other companies improve productivity through the use of new electronic business machines. He offered exciting new products and made it easy for customers to use their new equipment by including training and repair service with each machine.

Although the technology has changed, our focus has stayed the same: helping companies improve productivity through the use of new technology. Our specialties now include network support and management, hardware repair, and strategic planning. We are a Microsoft Certified Partner and an authorized service provider for Apple, Compaq, Dell, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Lexmark, and Xerox. While the majority of our business is service oriented, we are also a supplier of many of the hardware products we service. For additional information, please visit www.bpiis.com.

Your Role

Calling on your previous experience, you'll aim to "hit the ground running" as you join a team of 5 field service technicians and immediately begin making service calls to local client sites. You can expect to spend almost all of your time in the field making around 6 to 8 service calls a day, each of which will take an hour on average to complete. Your schedule (which will be based on your capabilities, strengths, and geographic location) will generally be determined each morning before you leave the office, although you will be expected to call into our dispatcher after each service call to check in and update your list.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Diagnosing and repairing PC's and printers at customer locations.
  • Installing and configuring PC's and printers.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems.
  • Documenting and reporting work performed on field service calls.

Keys to Success

In maintaining our reputation, you'll find that customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance in this organization and extremely key to your success in this role. To this end, it will be essential that you are able to provide very positive customer experiences while performing service calls by:
  • Empathizing with clients, listening to their concerns, and relating to their situations and needs.
  • Speaking to the client's level of technical understanding.
  • Interacting and communicating with charisma, confidence and tact.
  • Ensuring clients feel "well taken care of" and comfortable with the service provided.
  • Maintaining a high level of integrity and protecting clients' confidentiality.
  • Always representing BPI Information Systems will the highest level of professionalism.
Further skills that will assist you in this role include:
  • Flexibility to handle multiple calls in a day and easily "switch gears" between various clients and equipment.
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure diligent service, as well accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Solid writing skills for creating intelligible documentation.
  • The ability to work well with our internal team and effectively coordinate the resources and parts you need.
  • A knack for picking up new technologies.
  • A dedicated work ethic and readiness to take on whatever comes your way.
Last but not least, you'll stand out in this role -- and position yourself for increased compensation -- by undergoing additional manufacturer training programs and expanding your skill set while managing the responsibilities of the position. If this sounds like the right mix of challenge and opportunity, and you meet the required qualifications, we look forward to hearing from you.
